Today, Blanc Creative’s Concert Photography brand, ‘More than Just Music’ delve deep into the archives to a spectacular night at London’s roundhouse.

It was a memorable night for a massive suede fan photographing Brett Anderson and the Band on a rainy in 2015.

In fact, it was November and Friday the 13th. Lee Blanchflower was buzzing as he walked down to the venue.

He’d not seen Suede perform since they’d released Dog Man Star back in 1094 and they performed at Cambridge Corn Exchange .

It would be a night that captured an electrifying Suede Concert showcasing their latest album “Night Thoughts” in its entirety, performed behind a screen that displayed an evocative 50-minute film directed by acclaimed NME photographer Roger Sargent.

This unique setup enhanced the concert experience, merging live music with cinematic storytelling.

As a music and press photographer, The Suede concert Photography was seriously different, positioning the photographers at the front of a raised balcony for the first half of the performance, which was divided into two distinct sets.

The first, offered a full auditory and visual immersion into “Night Thoughts”

The film accompanying the first set provided a deep visual context to the music, featuring powerful scenes such as a man walking into the sea during “When You Are Young” and a poignant depiction of despair in “No Tomorrow”.

The narrative complexity deepened with scenes like a dramatic kidnapping in “I Don’t Know How To Reach You”, while lighter moments surfaced during upbeat tracks such as “Like Kids” and “Outsiders”, offering a visual feast of personal drama and celebration.

It was a surreal experience but well worth the journey from Norwich and one of the most lengthy live music shoots I’;d been on in a while.

It’s not very often that you ever get more then three songs, no flash, but on this occasion, the music photographers were allowed to shoot what would be one of the most dynamic Brett Anderson performances of all time) ‘from a personal perspective’ anyway.

Brett Anderson’s vigorous performance was especially notable during hits like “Moving”, “Killing Of A Flash Boy”, and “Animal Nitrate”.

The band’s interaction with the crowd brought the concert to a climactic close and a massive sense of satisfaction for Lee Blanchflowewr, as he walked back to his car for a three hour drive home.
