In the world of photography, there are moments that stand out, where the lens captures not just images, but stories, emotions, and experiences.

one such moment unfolded during a recent assignment that perfectly encapsulated our reputation within the hospitality sector for shooting professional food photography.

As an established Norwich Photographer, the chance to head down to one of the finest Seafood Restaurants to film at Randall & Aubin, with Chef De Patron and TV Chef Ed Baines, was an opportunity we simply could not miss.

On a brisk morning in London’s vibrant Soho district, Norwich Photographer Lee Blanchflower, found himself at the renowned seafood restaurant, Randall & Aubin.

Nestled in the heart of the city, this culinary gem has long been celebrated for its commitment to fresh, high-quality seafood and innovative dishes.

Today, however, the spotlight wasn’t just on the delectable fare but on the man behind the magic: Chef Ed Baines.

The  assignment for Lee, who runs the Blanc Creative and fronts as a Norwich Photographer and Video Producer, was to not only capture a set of interesting food photography images, but also to produce a creative promotional video to accompany the photographs.

As Lee set up his 4k Video equipment, anticipation hung in the air. Chef Ed Baines, with his trademark charisma and enthusiasm, welcomed Lee warmly, setting the stage for a day filled with creativity and collaboration.

Ed was an absolute master and nailed an 8 minute monologue without pausing for a breath. In fact, in ten years of shooting corporate videos, Ed’s performance was genuinely one of the best Lee had ever recorded.

(If you don’t believe what I’m saying, scroll to the bottom of this post and you can see for yourself) or head over to our YouTube Channel.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the pre-lunch prep, Ed delved deep into Oysters , seeking to uncover the stories behind the oysters. What he found was a tale of passion, tradition, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

In between shots, Chef Ed regaled Lee with tales of the sea, sharing insights into the art of oyster cultivation and the unique flavour profiles of the Amelie Fine De Claire variety.

It was absolutely clear that became clear that these oysters were more than just ingredients; they were a symbol of culinary heritage and a testament to the beauty of simplicity done right.

As the day progressed, Lee’s cameras continued to click away, securing the magic of the moment.

From the gleaming shells to the satisfied smiles of diners, every frame told a story, capturing the essence of Randall & Aubin and Chef Ed’s culinary vision.

And when the last oyster had been shucked and the final photograph taken, Lee couldn’t help but feel a sense of fulfilment.

As Lee packed up his gear and bid farewell to Randall & Aubin, he knew that he had witnessed something special. T

Through his lens, he had captured not just images but moments in time, snapshots of passion, creativity, and the joy of culinary exploration.

And as he made his way back to Norwich, Lee couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to do what he loved, to tell stories through his photography, and to share in the magic of culinary delights with Chef Ed and the team at Randall & Aubin.

In the end, it wasn’t just about the oysters or the photographs; it was about the connections forged, the memories made, and the shared love of food that brought them all together.

And for Blanc Creative’s Norwich Photographer, that was a story worth telling.

So here’s to Chef Ed, to Randall & Aubin, and to the power of photography to capture the beauty and essence of the world around us. May we never stop seeking out moments of wonder and inspiration, wherever they may be found.
